What is RAW eating?

RAW foodism is a term used by foodies to describe a diet consisting only of uncooked and/or unprocessed foods. There are many variations on this kind of diet. Most agree that any food that stays under 120°F can be considered RAW. While some simply processed foods such as sprouted seeds or fermented foods can be allowed, the ideas is to minimize the intake of processed products which can often contain synthetics, pesticides, fertilizers or additives.

Advocates for RAW eating often point out that heating food can strip away natural and beneficial enzymes. In addition, processing can leave behind potentially harmful materials. We have discovered that processing coconut oil with any kind of heat can indeed strip it of micro nutrients, trace nutrients or organic compounds.

Our Unique Method

Our unique method keeps the oil cool in order to retain every bit of healthy goodness. Other production methods take the oil through a rough process, cooking the oil at high temperatures and often using chemicals to separate the oil. This begins breaking down the nutrients months before you can even open their jar of oil.

Our Virgin Coconut Oil is centrifuge extracted. We don't heat it. We don't refine it. We spin it. That's right. We use g-force to gently separate the oil, leaving you with the most pure and delicious virgin coconut oil a jar can hold.

Dignity Coconuts Method Comparison 2018.jpg

At Dignity, we believe so much in the benefits of this "tree of life" that we want to keep our oil as close to its original state as possible. Less than 12 hours passes from cracking open the coconut to sealing the lid.

Did you know that other oils can be made from coconuts that are left outside with exposure to the elements and bugs for days? To keep that oil safe to consume, they have to refine, bleach and deodorize it using harsh chemicals.

Did you know that expeller-pressed and cold-pressed oils still exceed temperatures over 160°F?

The method of production of each oil will affect its taste and health benefits.
