Meet Domingo.

Before working at Dignity, Domingo worked as a security guard far from home. At the time it was the only opportunity for him, and he could not take higher paying or enjoyable jobs because he was not able to graduate from school.

He had difficulties providing for his family and raising his three children because his earnings were not enough between their daily expenses and traveling to and from work. Although he had hoped to work as a mechanic, since it’s one thing he is good at and enjoys doing, he never found an employer that was willing to take the risk given his background.

When he heard about Dignity, he wanted to apply immediately as it was near his home. He was willing to work with whatever opportunity was given to him, and he was surprised that he was hired as a mechanic.

Now, Domingo is able to do what he loves the most— fixing machines. He shared, “I am proud because even if I never finished my studies, I learned a lot in my job. Working at Dignity makes me feel better because I am near my family and I can send my children to school.”
