A simple man with a big dream. That’s how Jason described himself.
Jason dreams of helping his father provide for their family, of getting them out of poverty, and for a better life and future for all of them. That may sound like such a simple dream, but for Jason, this dream has been his driving force ever since he was young.
Jason is part of a big and loving family—he has his father, four brothers, and two sisters. But at a very young age, Jason had to go through the worst experience imaginable. His mother died, leaving him, his father, and his siblings lost and devastated. It was for them, the biggest challenge they ever had to face.
He and his siblings had to grow up without a mother. That, made the future for them seem darker already, but they had to face it. Jason decided to be a fisherman like his father, to help make ends meet. But with the small income it brings in, and with their big family, he knew it was not enough.
Then came Dignity.
At Dignity, Jason works as a Coconut Hauler, so he goes to each of our farms to collect coconuts and bring them to our plant. His hard work and dedication always show as he would also work and help out at the receiving section. With his job, he is able to help out with his family and meet their needs. Not only that, but now he can provide even beyond their basic needs.
Jason says, “I am proud and happy to be able to help my youngest sister in her studies.”
Working at Dignity made a deep impact, not only in Jason’s life but also for his family. Now, his dream of a better future is a reality; and for the whole family, the future is brighter.
