Meet Jonnel.
Before working at Dignity, Jonnel was a jeepney (local bus) and tricycle driver. He enjoys living a simple life together with his wife and two kids. Even though they are poor, as long as they are a happy family then he is still proud of where they are.
He dreams of giving his children a good future and for them to graduate and finish their studies. Driving did not provide steady income because it was dependent on passengers and weather. He had a hard time and could not consistently provide for his family’s daily needs. There were days when their expenses just continued to pile up and days when he could not properly provide for his family. The financial concerns eventually put a strain on his relationship with his wife, and it came to a point where they almost split up.
Jonnel decided to look for a job and was hired at Dignity as a Chiller Operator and repairman. Since working at Dignity, he is now able to provide for his family’s daily expenses and even save up for their kids' future. As their financial issues and stress lifted, so did their situation within the family. His marriage is no longer on the brink and his family has hope for the future.
After a challenging time living and working in the city, Clint learned that he did not need to sacrifice being near family to provide for them.
