Meet Victor. He held many odd jobs in the city until he got sick and needed to return home during the pandemic. The only thing Victor ever wanted was to provide a good life for his wife and children. He wanted to be the kind of husband and father that his family could be proud of. Because of that, he would always work hard and find ways to provide for his family’s daily needs.
Before working at Dignity, Victor worked many odd jobs, but they were inconsistent and required him to live in the city separated from his family. He started as a server, became a bell boy, worked as a construction worker, and then as a fisherman. As he moved on from one job to the next, Victor hoped to find a stable job closer to his family. This was something he wanted to do as soon as possible because he knew how hard it was for his wife to take care of their daughter and the household all alone.
During this transition, the pandemic began and lockdown measures were put in place. This affected everyone, even businesses. Victor found a job at Dignity as a security guard, not knowing at the time how much of a lifeline it would be. Victor soon became very sick and was not able to work. Being the sole provider for his family, it was difficult for them financially at that time. Not only that, but it was a stressful and scary time for his wife and daughter.
As he recovered, Victor was able to go back to work at Dignity. Through it all, Victor found comfort in being close to family and he had hope that they would make it through. He was grateful for all the help he received from Dignity and his colleagues who were there for him and his family during their darkest hours. Now, just as Victor brings security to Dignity, he receives the same sense of security for his own family.
After a challenging time living and working in the city, Clint learned that he did not need to sacrifice being near family to provide for them.
