Anything you put on your lips ends up in your mouth. Even the skin of our lips will absorb 90% of any product we apply to them. This means all the chemicals, toxins, and synthetics from your favorite lip balm are invading your body.
So if you wouldn't eat it, you shouldn't use it.
Most lip balms have toxic chemicals like Parabens, Petroleum (yes, a refined version of gasoline), Phenol, Menthol, Salicylic Acid, Fragrances, Propylene Glycol, & Alcohol, which can causes hormonal disruption, eczema, dry skin, melanoma, and breakouts.
Even the “natural” brands rely on damaging ingredients.
“Lip balms that contain ingredients like phenol, menthol, and salicylic acid make the lips drier. So you apply more, and it becomes a vicious cycle. They either cause irritation or literally remove the outer layers of the skin. You have less protection and are more susceptible to environmental factors, which lead to you actually applying more of the product. Avoid lip balms containing those ingredients!”
- Dr. Melissa Piliang, Dermatologist
You shouldn’t have to choose between the quality of your lip balm and the health risks of your lip balm.
We were disgusted by this and decided to create the most ethical, affordable and impactful lip balm on the market.
Protects lips and keeps them smooth. Lauric Acid aids the healing process for chapped lips. Our coconut oil is one of the few that is RAW (see why cold-pressed is not raw) so none of the benefits are lost in the process.
Protective barrier by supplying and retaining moisture. Cocoa butter also contains antioxidant vitamins A, C and E, which can help slow the signs of aging. We use unrefined cocoa butter so no benefits are lost in the processing.

Much of the coconut industry is corrupt, environmentally harmful, and exploits workers through modern-day slavery. Because you’re vigilant about the foods and products you use, we understand you don’t want to contribute to these things. We created a way out. Every time you purchase with Dignity, you offer freedom to families who were once trapped. Our holistic approach creates jobs, education, clean water, direct trade and sets people free from these cycles. One lip balm may not change the world, but it makes the world of difference for one person.
We know it’s a big step. Any time you switch from products full of chemicals to a natural option, it can be an adjustment.
What you should know:
1) Vegan lip balms will melt in the heat. Without the chemicals, Vegan lip balms will melt at lower temperatures than the non-Vegan brands. For best results, keep them indoors away from direct sunlight.
2) Flavors may be different. Most of the lip balm flavors are made from synthetics so switching to essential oils may feel different.
3) Making the switch has a huge positive impact on people and the planet! You may be surprised at how proud you are of yourself.
We are confident you will be glad you made the switch so if you are unhappy in any way, please contact us at email@example.com
