Meet Vivian. After graduating high school, Vivian went right into the workforce to support her family and gain experience. She had 9 siblings and her father had passed away, so it was always challenging to make ends meet. As a young person with little experience, Manila is an easy place to find a job even if it is not the best.

Vivian found her first job in a factory, before moving on to be a clothing salesperson, server at a canteen, and caregiver for a child. With a wide range of experiences, Vivian gained many different skills in the bustling city. However, the big city was not where she and her husband wanted to raise their daughter. It was a loud, fast-paced environment, and far from family.

Vivian soon returned home and started looking for new work. When she heard about Dignity, she applied right away. She was still young and, because of her size, people didn't think she would be strong. But, Vivian was determined and quickly proved her skills as a hard worker. She was happy at her new job and found a caring community. The safe environment has helped Vivian to thrive– she is able to save for their family and provide for their needs. She shares, “I just want to have a successful life so I can provide for my family. I want to ensure my daughter finishes her education and gets a good job so that someday, she will have a good life too.”
